Burger Bowls with Big Mac Sauce

serves 4
serves 4

Ingredients

Burger Meat

½ Tablespoon avocado or olive oil

½ yellow onion, chopped

500g lean ground beef, ground turkey or ground chicken

1 teaspoon yellow mustard

1tsp "everything" mingle seasoning

Burger Bowls

4-6 cups shredded romaine or iceberg lettuce

2 cups diced tomatoes, I like roma tomatoes

1 cup thinly sliced red onion - optional

1 cup chopped dill pickles

1 avocado, sliced (optional)

1 bag frozen sweet potato fries or homemade sweet potato fries (use 1 cup cooked in your bowl)

Big Mac Sauce

¼ cup plain Greek yogurt

¼ cup mayonnaise

1 Tablespoon ketchup

½ teaspoon yellow mustard

1 Tablespoon pickle juice

1 Tablespoon finely chopped pickles

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

¼ teaspoon salt, add more if needed

Instructions

  • Cook the sweet potato fries according to the package instructions or prepare your homemade version. While they cook, move on to the next steps.

  • In a pan over medium heat, add oil and the onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened and fragrant.

  • Add the mince meat, yellow mustard, and mingle seasoning. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through (about 7-8 minutes), breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks. Remove from heat and set aside.

  • In a small bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, chopped pickles, garlic powder, onion powder and salt. Mix until smooth and well combined. Add more salt, if desired.

  • Divide the shredded lettuce among 4 bowls.

  • Top each bowl with cooked burger meat, diced tomatoes, red onion, chopped pickles, avocado slices (if using) and sweet potato fries.

  • Drizzle each bowl with sauce.
